Kahlyn’s “Babies in Belize”

Kahlyn  Shoe and School Supply Drive

When Kahlyn returned from her Washburn University study abroad trip to Belize in January 2012 she was discouraged that so many of the children at the orphanages they visited did not have shoes.

She was determined to send shoes to her “Babies in Belize.”

Washburn University students once again embarked on the study abroad trip to Belize at the end of December in 2012. They were be able to take many shoes and school supplies to the orphans in Belize.

The following year when the Washburn University students traveled to Belize, they once again took shoes and school supplies to the orphanages. That year we were also able to provide a pair of black shoes to ?? specific children. The children in the orphanages must have black shoes to attend school.

We had so many people donate a pair of new or used shoes, or school supplies! The orphanages were overwhelmed with our generosity.

Thank you for the help and interest.

Kahlyn would be SO excited to have helped her “Babies in Belize”!

They are surrounded by shoes and school supplies that were collected for that orphanage in 2012. Other orphanages also received donations from Kahyn’s Babies in Belize shoe and school supply drive that year and the following year.
